A Building Block Type is single infrastructure utility that provides an unambiguous well-defined infrastructure functionality. Multiple Building Block Variants can exist, dependent on the diversity in Working Areas and Environments, as well as on details of technical application (e.g. Application Hosting on Java vs. dotNet enabled platforms).
